To all our patients, clients, and staff,
With every media outlet streaming updated news and data regarding COVID-19, I felt compelled to provide our own response in an effort to encourage each of you.
It is important to know that we work very closely with several emergency department physicians as well as our cardiology group. Many of our internal updates are provided by these excellent physicians. It is also notable that I have personally been in contact with Governor Carney and he has also provided helpful information that will hopefully aid in the reduction of cases both in Delaware and also across the country.
It is VERY important that we all realize the nature of this virus. Please understand that this is a brand new strain of virus and at this point a vaccine is not available. With that said, this virus is extremely dangerous to specific groups of people. You have all heard that the elderly and those folks with co-morbidities are at a much higher risk of developing serious illnesses and potentially death. With that in mind, it becomes paramount that those at a lower risk also follow the rules of social distancing and cleanliness, so as not to pass the virus on to those more vulnerable.
For our entire existence, our company has promoted personal responsibility. I have at times been criticized for suggesting that we as individuals need to be responsible for ourselves, and our families. Well, at this time in our history, nothing could be more important than for each of us to follow the CDC instructions for reducing the spread of COVID-19. Without personal responsibility, the U.S. could potentially see more than 1 million deaths related to the virus.
With that being said, our staff continues to remain ahead of the curve regarding cleanliness and providing a sterile experience for our clients and patients. We are currently offering some of our high risk cardiac patients one-on-one rehab visits in our home office. Since we provide one-on-one corporate preventive medicine services, our clients are at virtually zero risk for developing COVID-19 from these interactions.
In conclusion, this is a moment in time that will define us as a people and a country. We have not been exposed to anything like this in our lifetime. With a massive TEAM effort, this virus will be contained and eventually controlled. Please continue to be personally responsible to yourself and your family, and please continue to pray for those already infected as well as the healthcare workers who are on the front lines of treatment.
God Bless,
Thomas E. Hall
